Fresh Seeds of Sisyrinchium bellum (Blue-Eyed Grass) with full instructions for germination.

Native to California and Oregon, this beautiful, semi-evergreen perennial has narrow, sword-shaped, blue-green leaves and strikingly bright, violet-blue flowers with deep yellow centres.

After an exceptionally long flowering period from late winter to early autumn, the plants lose some foliage, before new growth appears once again during spring.

Frost hardy to between -10°C to -15°C, and growing to approx. 45 x 45 cm in size.

Sisyrinchium bellum 🌱 Surface sow seeds 2mm deep within propagation compost, placing pot within a zip-lock bag and keep within a refrigerator for 30-60 days. After the cold treatment, remove pot from zip-lock bag and keep compost evenly moist at 21°C (70°F). A heated propagator is ideal. Non-heated propagators can be placed within direct sunlight in a warm room to trap in heat and humidity. Approx. germination time: from 30-90 days onwards.
