Schefflera pueckleri (Syn. Tupidanthus calyptratus)

Fresh Seeds of Schefflera pueckleri (Syn. Tupidanthus calyptratus) with full instructions for germination.

We're extremely excited to offer the seeds of an exceptionally rare species of Umbrella Tree, native to Asia and Indonesia, growing to a maximum height of 15-20 ft.

An extremely beautiful tree with a spreading, low canopy of evergreen foliage, made of palmately-compound leaves with elongated, drooping lobes and attractive, grey, smooth bark.

Its architectural leaves and interesting form make it a great specimen within an exoticsubtropical-style garden.

Hardy to -4°C; it has been known to survive slightly lower temperatures, but will die down and generate from the base.

Please note: full germination instructions are printed on each pack.

English Name: Umbrella Tree

Plant type: Evergreen shrub or small tree

Eventual height: 15-20 ft

Hardiness: -4°C

Soil: Moist, fertile and well-drained. Water well during growing season, less in winter

 GERMINATION INSTRUCTIONS

Schefflera pueckleri 🌱 Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours. Sow seeds 1cm deep within propagation compost. Keep compost evenly moist at all times at 25-30°C (77-86°F). A heated propagator is ideal. Non-heated propagators can be placed within direct sunlight in a warm room to trap in heat and humidity. Approx. germination time is from 2-3 months — but some may take longer (approx. 6 months) due to the biological clock of seed dormancy within most tropical seeds.

Caution: Not for consumption. Choking hazard. Keep away from children & pets. Handle with care.
