A unique annual, native to south-eastern and south-central United States, growing to around 2-3 ft in height with beautiful ‘Mexican hat-shaped’ flowers sit atop oblong to ovate, stem-clasping leaves from late summer to early autumn.
The charming, solitary, drooping flowers borne from July to October, are composed of deep-yellow ray florets, often bearing orange, red or purple bases, which surround large dark-brown central discs. A magnet for attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies!
