Licuala grandis - (Ruffled Fan Palm / Vanuatu Palas Palm)

Endemic only to the archipelago of Vanuatu in the South Pacific Ocean

Licuala grandis is a fascinating architectural palm, growing to a maximum height of 6-8 ft tall. It is very slow growing and rarely ever grows to this height — especially when kept potted

This handsome palm makes a lovely potted specimen and is sure to catch anyone’s eye in the room. The large, shiny leaves are palmate (but undivided) and pleated, spanning up to 20 inches in diameter

Frost tender: to be grown indoors, or within a conservatory, where frosts are expected

Please note: full germination instructions are printed on each pack

 GERMINATION INSTRUCTIONS

Licuala grandis 🌱 Soak seeds in warm water for 2 days (change water after 24 hours). Sow seeds 3cm deep within propagation compost. Keep compost evenly moist at all times at 30°C (86°F). A heated propagator is ideal. Non-heated propagators can be placed within direct sunlight in a warm room to trap in heat and humidity. Approx. germination time is from 2-3 months — but some may take longer (approx. 6 months) due to the biological clock of seed dormancy within most palm seeds.

Caution: Not for consumption. Choking hazard. Keep away from children & pets. Handle with care.
