A wonderful evergreen shrub, native to coastal regions of Australia and New Zealand, vigorously growing to a size of approximately 6-10 ft in height.

A highly ornamental variety with beautiful purple-red, oval leaves all year, and clusters of small pink flowers within summer, followed by pretty red winged pods over late summer and autumn.

Perfect as a border shrub, specimen tree, or as a hedge.

Hardy to -5°C (23°F).

 GERMINATION INSTRUCTIONS






 


Dodoneaea viscosa 'purpurea' 🌱 Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours. Sow seeds 5mm deep within propagation compost. Keep compost evenly moist at all times at around 21-25°C (71°F-77°F). A heated propagator is ideal. Non-heated propagators can be placed within direct sunlight in a warm room to trap in heat and humidity. Germination tends to be slow: from 30-60 days onwards.
