Cyrtostachys renda (Syn. Cyrtostachys lakka) - Lipstick Palm

 

This stunning feather palm is from Malaysia, growing to around 6 ft within a pot and 20-30 ft within open ground in warmer countries

 

They possess a multi-coloured stem of intense colours, including bright pink, red, orange, green and yellow!

 

In the UK and temperate Europe, they make a fantastic conservatory or houseplant, and can be put out in the sun during warmer spells.  They are hardy down to 12ºC (55ºF)

 

Mist spray if within dry air indoors and situate within full or partial sunlight

 

Plant within a moist, loamy, well-drained and fertile soil
