Borago officinalis - (Borage)

 

A beautiful flowering herb and hardy annual, readily self-seeding for future generations.

 

Attracts bees and butterflies.

 

The plant has been used as a herb and aesthetic flower since the Romans!

 

Produces copious amounts of starry bright purple-blue flowers on branched cymes, 2cm across.

 

The flowers open with pink/purple petals, turning purple-blue eventually.

 

Extremely long period of flowering, from mid spring to mid-summer!

 

Grows around 2 ft tall (24 inches).

 

Hardy to -15°C (5°F).

 

Plant in full sun or partial shade, within well-drained soil that is left to dry slightly between waterings.

 GERMINATION INSTRUCTIONS

 

Borago officinalis 🌱 Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours. Sow seeds 5mm deep within propagation compost. Keep compost evenly moist at all times at 21°C (70°F). A heated propagator is ideal. Non-heated propagators can be placed within direct sunlight in a warm room to trap in heat and humidity. Sow within deep pots as the long tap roots develop fast. Approx. germination time: from 20-60 days onwards.

Caution: Not for consumption. Choking hazard. Keep away from children & pets. Handle with care.
