A native to North America, Red Maples put on a spectacular show during autumn across the continent

Growing to around 20 m in height, the trees eventually form a beautiful, rounded shape, with younger trees starting off with a more tall and pyramidal form

The leaves have 3 to 5 palmate-lobes with serrated margins, emerging a deep green in spring, then forming eye-catching autumn colours from burnt oranges, through to scarlet and electric purple tones

Fully hardy to -20ºC (-4ºF). Protect very young plants and seedlings from hard frosts initially
