A beautiful wildflower meadow mix of Eschscholzia californica (California Poppy) seeds.

Native to Western North America, bearing a great range of colourful flowers from late spring to early autumn, ranging from deep to subtle hues of orange, yellow, white, pink, purple to red. Provides copious amounts of seeds for future sowing.

A vigorous bushy, spreading annual, or short-lived perennial, it generally grows to a height of up to 45cm, with finely divided blue-green leaves, producing solitary, long-stalked, pretty flowers 7cm across, which are a magnet to bees and other vital pollinators.

Will thrive in poor, well-drained soil, or fertile soils (but not water-logged) and they need full sun for the flowers to open. Can be grown as a drought-tolerant pot plant. Good for exposed or coastal areas. Frost hardy to around - 5°C.

Eschscholzia californica 🌱 Sow seeds 5mm deep within propagation compost. Keep compost evenly moist at all times at 20°C (68°F). A heated propagator is ideal. Non-heated propagators can be placed within direct sunlight in a warm room to trap in heat and humidity. Mist-spray compost daily to keep surface moist. Germination time: from 45-60 days onwards.
