Cosmos bipinnatus (Cosmea / Mexican Aster)

beautiful wildflower meadow mix of Cosmos bipinnatus (Cosmea / Mexican Aster) seeds.

Cosmos bipinnatus is a bushy annual (often growing as a perennial) growing in a columnar upright habit to around 6 ft in height.  Native to Mexico and Central America, it's a highly attractive species with finely divideddelicate apple-green foliage, producing a beautiful flowering display from summer to late autumn, until the first frosts.

The daisy-like flowers are composed of wide outer ray petals, which can be a deep magenta to salmon pink, or bright white, surrounding a central disc of tightly clustered, goldeninner disc florets. The flowering season tends to be very long anyway, but dead-heading spent flowers will prolong it even further.
