An adorable herbaceous perennial native to East Asia, growing to around 50 - 100 cm in height.

Balloon-like buds are produced during late summer opening to form cup-shaped, violet-blue flowers, 5 cm in size, which are the perfect compliment to the pretty ovate to lance-shaped, blue-green foliage.

Looks great in any flower border, especially within a cottage-style garden. 

Fully Frost hardy to -15°C.

Platycodon grandiflorus 🌱 Sow seeds 1cm deep within propagation compost. Keep compost evenly moist at all times at 21°C (70°F). A heated propagator is ideal. Non-heated propagators can be placed within direct sunlight in a warm room to trap in heat and humidity. Once seedlings reach 3 cm in diameter, pot in to 3-inch pots. Approx. germination time: from 20-80 days onwards.
