Matricaria chamomilla (German Chamomile / Wild Camomile) |
Fresh seeds of Matricaria chamomilla (syn. Matricaria recutita) German Chamomile / Wild Camomile.
Matricaria chamomilla is a larger species of chamomile, growing as an annual herb, native to Europe. The plants (growing to around 2 ft in height) produce masses of prominent flowers during spring to summer.
The pleasantly-scented chamomile flowers are borne in paniculate flower heads, consisting of bright-white ray florets surrounding the inner deep-yellow disc florets, held erectly above its narrow, finely-divided, bi- to tripinnate foliage.
It makes a fantastic pollinator-friendly wildflower meadow plant — but also makes a lovely addition to any flower bed or border, particularly being well suited for cottage-style and informal gardens. Fully frost hardy to -25°C.
For a smaller species of chamomile, please see our Chamaemelum nobile listing.
Please note: full germination instructions are printed on each pack.
