Chamaemelum nobile (syn. Anthemis nobilis) Roman Garden Chamomile

C. nobile is a mat-forming perennial to around 25 cm in height, boasting finely-divided, aromatic, feathery foliage with a beautiful, ripe apple scent — producing a profusion of pretty, daisy-like summer flowers with white rays and prominent yellow disc florets.

Makes a perfect idea as a traditional lawn substitute, although it prefers not to be walked on heavily. Trim foliage to keep as low to the ground as is desired.

Chamomile flowers are dried and used to make chamomile tea, or potpourri, commercially. Its nectar-pollen-rich-flowers are great for attracting bees, beneficial insects and other pollinators.

It makes a lovely addition to any flower bed or border, and is particularly well suited for cottage-style and informal gardens, and also city and courtyard gardens. The plant will appreciate full sun and good drainage.

Fully frost hardy to -20°C.

For a larger species of chamomile, please see our Matricaria chamomilla listing.

Please note: full germination instructions are printed on each pack.
