Gigantochloa ' Bicolor' - Giant Striped Bamboo

We're excited to offer the seeds of another rare, clumping bamboo species, Gigantochloa 'Bicolor'. Full instructions for germination printed on packs.

Originating from Myanamar, these giant clumps will reach an eventual height of around 7 m within the UK and temperate Europe.

Culms become striped over time with colours from blue-green to white-yellow forming attractive markings — especially in larger specimens.

Once established, clumps can withstand a light frost — but the key is to keep the soil on the dry side during any frost. Protect any bamboos under the age of 2-3 years old from any frost using sheeting or a horticultural fleece.

Please note: full germination instructions are printed on each pack
