Fargesia papyrifera (Syn. Borinda papyrifera) Umbrella Bamboo

A very rare and difficult to get hold of frost-hardy blue bamboo, primarily native to China

Younger stems are a stunning and almost metallic-blue colour, with old stems then turning through blue-green, yellows and reds

Clumping bamboo (non-invasive)

Grows to a height of 4-6 m (13-20 feet), with a typical stem diameter of 3 cm, forming an open clump which is non-invasive

Hardy to -10 to -15ºC (5 to 14ºF)

Bamboo seeds are not always available due to worldwide shortages of most species; this is because they rarely flower, sometimes every 30 to even 100 years (called gregarious flowering)

Please note: full germination instructions are printed on each pack
