Dendrocalamus membranaceus (Waya Bamboo / May Sang Bamboo)

A very large bamboo, native to Burma, growing up to 50 feet (15 m) in height

Clumping bamboo (non-invasive)

The giant culms grow to 10 cm in diameter, forming erect plants with weeping tops of lanceolate leaves.  Plants have a ‘fluffy’ look to them from distance and make excellent specimens

Green culms are white powder covered when young giving a misty blue appearance. Its pale golden shoots are purple leaf tipped and blue tinged with powder

Hardy to around -4 ºC (25 ºF), sometimes colder, but the key is to keep the soil on the dry side during any frost

Bamboo seeds are not always available due to worldwide shortages of most species; this is because they rarely flower, sometimes only every 30 to even 100 years (called gregarious flowering) - this is why bamboo seeds are very rare

Please note: full germination instructions are printed on each pack
